Driver in pub havoc

A farmer crashed into a house and three parked cars while trying to manoeuvre his 4x4 out of a pub car park.

Billy Brewster caused chaos after an evening at his local in Thornhill, Stirling Sheriff Court heard. Residents alerted by the caos looked out to see him heading off without stopping.

Brewster, 53, of Wester Borland Farm, admitted careless driving and failing to stop and report the accidents.

The dad-of-three's not guilty plea to drink driving was accepted by the Crown. Sheriff Andew Cubie told him: "If it's not drink, then it's incompetence." He fined Brewster £800, banned him for six months and endorsed his licence.
