Ben Crossley, 24, of Loughborough Road, Mountsorrel appeared at Leicester Crown Court to admit a charge of causing death by careless driving. His Honda Integra veered off the A6 between Loughborough and Quorn at around 8.20pm on August 28 last year.
Becki, a 20-year-old hair stylist from Mountsorrel, was killed and Crossley himself suffered serious injuries when the car hit a tree in the central reservation of the dual carriageway road. Crossley, was released on bail, is due to be sentenced on June 19. The court case was adjourned for the preparation of reports.
Mrs Holwell, of Mountsorrel, said: "I am glad he had admitted what he has done but at the moment I just feel pure hatred towards him. I can't forgive him for what he did to Becki and what he has done to our family and her friends. I have lost my daughter because he has taken her away. We've not had any contact with him since the accident. I haven't really wanted to think about him at all.
Mrs Holwell described her daughter as a "wonderful, fun-loving girl" who was extremely popular.
She worked as a stylist at Jacki Walker Hair and Beauty in Biggin Street, Loughborough and dreamed of one day opening her own salon.
Since her death Becki's family have been raising cash for the road safety charity BRAKE. She had been planning her 21st birthday party at the time of her death and her family decided to hold it as a fund-raiser in her memory. More than £700 was collected at December's event.
Mrs Holwell has also been campaigning for safety improvements on the A6 at the spot of the accident and she says she will continue to do that once the court case has ended.
