Clamping is to be banned by the UK government

As part of the new Freedom Bill, clampers will face what the government has called “tough penalties”. This new law will apply to private clampers only, and will not apply to local authorities or the police.

At present the only way to beat the clampers is to pay them first, and then the vehicle owner may be able to seek repayment through the county courts. Removal of a clamp, even if the clamp should not be on the vehicle, is a crime; clamps should never be removed without the permission of the clamp owner.
